K&K Sound Artist of the Month

Rick Spreitzer

Rick uses the Pure Western pick up on his 2002 Gibson J45 and the Pure XLR pre-amp.

Rick Spreitzer is a NYC-born, south Florida-reared butcher's son who now calls Charlotte, NC home.

He plays guitar like an old woman beating a dirty rug and sings like nobody's angel.  But spend time with his songs and you'll find yourself visited by characters hell-bent on drawing you in.

"Writing is that mostly laborious (sometimes magical) process of sifting through the dirt, wiping away the fog in search of small, shiny truths. I've found no better way to squander my days than to try and write a decent song.”

Rick has 3 full length recordings to his credit, the most recent being From the Bottom. He won the 2004 North Carolina Songwriter's Co-Operative's Songwriting Contest and has been a 3-time finalist in the Flat Rock Music Festival Songwriting Contest (2004-2006).

For the past 6 years, he's been accompanied by Kevin Edwards (acoustic guitar), JD Wilson (mandolin) and in the past year has been joined by Angelo Melendez (bass).

Rick is a proud artist endorser of K&K pick ups.
