Massimiliano uses the Pure Mini in his guitars:

The most impressive feature of the Pure Mini is its capability to transmit the harmonics and the natural tone of the entire guitar body. This is especially useful for my tapping and percussive playing technique.

Massimiliano Cona was born in Uster, Switzerland, in 1970. He began studying jazz guitar by following a course by some of Sicily’s best guitarists. At the age of nineteen he enrolled at the LIZARD school in Fiesole, directed by Giovanni Unterberger, and graduated with honors. He continue to collaborate with LIZARD school, in fact he currently directs the LIZARD Musical Laboratory of Sicily.

Massimiliano has performed all over Europe, including represented Italy at the European Meeting organized by the EEC in Westphalia in 1991, at the European Day in the Czech Republic in 1997 that featured representatives from more than 15 countries, and at the Ginsburg Meeting in Limanowa, Poland in 1999 where he played a medley of classical music reinterpreted in a modern style. In Sigen, Germany, he performed in front of 180 European Community delegates, presenting several songs of his own composition including “Immersion” and “My Love Land”.

In 2001, he was one of the winners of the competition ‘Demotape’, organized by the magazine ‘Chitarre’ and ‘Play Game Music’ for whom he recorded the song “Love Immersion.” In 2003 he won for the second year running the contest “Emergenza Chitarre” with the song ‘Scent of Land’. In 2004 in Constance (Romania), he receives the Award “The Best Guitar Solo Player Romania” 2004.

He has contributed to several national television programs such as: Thirty Hours for Life (channel 5), Award Rino Gaetano (Rai 1), Teleton (Rai 1). In 2000 The TV channel (Channel 4) uses his music in several commercial advertisement. In 2006 he signed a contract with the R.T.I. Mediaset group as the author of music for films, substrates, and advertising.

He has collaborated with other LIZARD teachers for the drafting of a method for electric guitar (hard rock and heavy metal) under the supervision of Giovanni  Unterberger and distributed by BMG MEMORIES. In 2007 he released his first Guitar Method DVD “The Rock Lead Guitar” product by PlayGame Music. In 2008 he starts a collaboration with Yamaha Music Italy becoming demonstrator of acoustic guitars. In 2012 he began working with the magazine ‘Chitarre’ writing lessons on Modern Acoustic Guitar.
