“I use the K&K Pure Mini in both of my Brondel guitars and they truly represent the acoustic tone. I used it on our new record – The Hollow – and during live shows. I love K&K Sound!”

“When I was 13, I was at band practice (playing drums) and the guitarist didn’t show up. So I thought, ‘Well, I guess I’ll have to play the guitar.’ And oddly enough, completely unexpectedly, I fell in love.”

Not too long after this garage rehearsal insight, Pun transitioned into guitar studies. “I got really into ’70s funk music,” he says. “I loved The Meters, Funkadelic, stuff like that.”

Pun pursued blues, rock and funk throughout his high school years studying with jazz/blues guitarist, Jamal Millner, then later in the DADGAD style with French/Algerian guitarist, Pierre Bensusan. While in college, Professor Abby Aronson recruited him to be in an ensemble completely dedicated to the music of Joni Mitchell, which he now credits as one of the most influential experiences of his musical studies.

While in college, Pun met violinist, Morwenna Lasko in a ‘Music of India’ course. The two became friends and later started an original project under their own names, “Morwenna Lasko & Jay Pun.”

The duo has toured throughout the U.S. and in Europe, playing clubs, festivals and giving workshops. Their latest CD, The Hollow was released on Dec. 15th, 2015 and can be found at www.mojamusic.net

Jay uses the K&K Pure Mini in both of his Brondel guitars and he uses it on their new record – The Hollow. He sometimes blends in a magnetic soundhole pickup for special sound effects.
