Kristin Agee

Artist of the Month | February 2019

“I love my K&K Vibraphone System! The clarity of my sound on stage and in the studio is unlike anything I was able to achieve before. And no bleed through from other instruments on stage, which used to be a huge problem! Using these pickups, I have discovered numerous ways to manipulate and shape my sound using effects pedals, which has helped me develop a new sound and direction for my group Us, Today.”

Kristin Agee is a drummer, percussionist, composer and music educator. She performs regularly with experimental rock group Us, Today and folk group The Lovers. Us, Today, featureing Kristin on vibarphone, keyboard and other percussive and electronic sounds, has released 3 albums to date, and anticipates their 4th album in the summer of 2018. With this group she has toured extensively through the midwest including performances at Midpoint Music Festival, Secret Stages Music Festival and SXSW and sharing the stage with artists such as Sylvan Esso, Kishi Bashi, Deer Hoof.

As a freelance artist, she has performed in a wide range of musical settings, including with regional orchestras such as the Kentuckky Symphony Orchestra, West Virginia Symphony and Butler Philharmonic, in the theater with companies such as Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park, The Incline Theater and Know Theater, and in numerous original and cover bands. In 2017, Kristin’s percussion made its way onto Jesse James Decker’s hit single Girl on the Coast which hit #1 on the iTunes country charts and #5 on the Bilboard Country Albums Chart.

Kristin currently teaches at Anderson Music Workshop in Cincinnati, Ohio, a music academy she established in 2012. Kristin endorses Vic Firth sicks and mallets, and is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
