Philippe Fouquet

Philippe Fouquet is a French acoustic guitar composer and player. He began playing in the 70ies. His early influences have been the music of some guitarists such as John Renbourn, Pierre Bensusan, Dave Evans and other ones of this period. Celtic, baroque, folk musics are his roots.

Philippe has been the winner of several contests in France like “concours Marcel Dadi” 2001 and “Les révélations acoustiques” 2006. He recorded three albums: Ouvrir in 2001; Sophia in 2005 and Turning Point in 2009.

He discovered harp guitar with the great Michael Hedges and became passionate of this instrument. In 2004, he could get an old Viennese harp guitar and began to practice this instrument and compose for it. He came in touch with Gregg Miner, founder of and a rich musical and human collaboration began between them.

Philippe became one of the label Harp Guitar Music artists with the production of his third album Turning Point which had enthusiasts reviews in several magazines and sites such as and What they say:

In november 2010 he has been the “featured guest artist” of the the 8th Harp Guitar Gathering in Indianapolis sharing the stage with artists such as Muriel Anderson, Stephen Bennet , John Doan and many of the bests world harp guitarists.

He actually is one of the European harp guitar specialists, gives concerts and master classes, collaborates to harp guitar compilations CDs and is preparing his 4th album.
